Refugee & Migrant Education: Pathways for Hope, Understanding, and Meaningful Integration

Prof. Alberto Garcia Gomez, Chair holder of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights, will participate in the three-day conference “Refugee & Migrant Education: Pathways for Hope, Understanding, and Meaningful Integration.”

On 6-8 November, 2004, RME Network, together with co-hosting partners Jesuit Refugee Services, Scalabrini International Migration Institute, John Carroll University, and Villanova University Strategic Initiative for Refugees and Migrants, will hold an international conference for scholars, researchers, community leaders, and practitioners in education and migration. The event aims to explore innovative educational practices that promote mutual understanding, participation, and integration of refugees, migrants, and displaced people. Through panels and workshops, the conference will enhance awareness of refugee and migrant narratives, the global migration phenomenon, and the right to quality education for all.

Prof. Garcia’s contribution will be Global Report on Teachers: Addressing Teacher Shortage and Transforming the Profession within the workshop Teachers in Crisis Context.
