On 21st November from 2pm to 7pm (Rome time), the UNESCO Chair, in collaboration with Princeton University, is organising a Free Zoom Webinar titled: ‘Feminist ethics of care and the doctor-woman medical encounter: What Love Has to Do With It? International scholars coming from world-leading Universities, including the University of Oxford, will analyse meanings and implications of an ethics of care for women in a medical context, merging both theoretical and practical reflections.
In an era where concepts of female empowerment and freedom from medical professionals are gaining more and more attention, an ethics of love seeks to find ways to reconcile the two. Women and medical professionals, in this sense, are not to be framed as antagonists, but can and should journey together in the medical arena.
This event will also launch the UNESCO research group on ‘Dignity and equity in women’s health issues‘ co-led by Dr Thana de Campos-Rudinsky and Caterina Milo.
